The Doll Question

Several people have asked about the possibility that a realistic doll was utilized to impersonate Trig in the early days of his life, specifically, as what or who some of us would refer to as the Ruffles baby. The photo at right is of a realistic doll. A commenter on a previous post asked if I could post the four photos in a row together to which I was referring to refute the doll possibility. This text is in a separate post simply because I was having problems lining up the four photos and text in the manner I desired. From left to right in the previous post are shown photos from Kristan Cole's baby shower of 5/4/08, Mercede holding Trig in the Palin kitchen on 5/3/08, Trig in the hospital hallway with The Heaths 4/18/08, and just below in the previous post, Trig in the Anchorage office 4/23/08. In my opinion, these four shots cannot be of a doll unless they are of four separate dolls because the mouth and the lines around the mouth are different in all four shots. The position of the baby's head is slightly different, too, and on the magazine cover the baby's hand is wrapped around Sarah's finger.

If anyone still wants to discuss this topic or any other theory concerning Babygate, my couch is always open. We try to remain considerate of all theories and suppositions here at Palin Babygate. The goal is to stop the monster. We don't care who gets the credit for it, just so the deed is done!

Only the very earliest photos, at the hospital and at the office a few days later, are possible dolls. Only the Heaths and Palins hold that baby. If you put the hospital and office photos side by side, you can decide if the differences would be possible due to change in position of a reborn doll.

Sadie and the shower ladies held a real baby, Ruffles. The photos two weeks earlier may or may not have been that baby.

Floyd, looking at Trig at hospital (striped blanket and cap) and Trig at office (My Puppy cap), look at the mouth. One mouth is the mirror image of the other, which could be from a flipped photo. The other difference is that the office photo has a scrunched chin, which reborns' faces will do.

The doll would have been a fill-in until Ruffles was home and presentable. April 18 was chosen as the "birthday" so Sarah could arrive from TX in the middle of the night and get the fake pregnancy over with.

Dude, you are persistent, B! As I have said, I am always open to discuss all issues, however, I still am not convinced about the doll thing. You came close to getting me with your latest comment, but when I look at the whole frame of the hospital photo, the writing on Chuck's shirt indicates that the photo has not been flipped. Of course the My Puppy on the office photo has not been flipped, either.

My point is just that hospital/office Trig doesn't help us figure out Babygate or Eargate because he is not necessarily the same baby as Sadie/shower Trig or RNC Trig or Booktour Trig.

Sarah needed to show a baby to say she had one on April 18. That baby we saw could have been borrowed or a reborn doll. Certainly, he would have given Willow no reason to say he had DS.
